The OCN Storm wrapped up the first half of the season with a split against the Peguis Juniors! The team won’t hit the ice again until 2022, with trade deadlines looming OCN Storm General Manager Jeremy Hone said he's happy where the team is right now despite injuries hitting the team. The OCN Storm split their weekend against the Peguis Juniors at the GLMC. Opening with a 5-3 victory on Saturday and a pair of goals by Chavez Constant.

After some rest for both teams they hit the ice again with an early afternoon game. The OCN Storm's Roger Houle JR pulled off a hat trick with goals scored during the second period however it wasn't enough to prevent the 9-4 loss to the Juniors on Sunday. The Storm remain one point behind the NCN Flames for 2nd in the league.

The OCN Blizzard had a rough weekend when they lost both games to the Winkler Flyers.

Fridays game was a high scoring game all around. The first period wrapped up 2-0 for the Winkler Flyers. Into the second period the Blizzard fought to catch up with Guerin Apperley's second goal of the season, another goal from Dain Sardelli and later on Raj Gill to head into the second 3-6. The Blizzard continued to bite back in the third with two goals scored by brock MacDonald and another goall by Brett Tataryn however they fell 8-6 to the flyers.

Saturdays game wrapped up 2021 with a final score of 4-1 for the flyers with the lone Blizzard goal being scored by Ashton Paul.

The Kelsey Recreation and Wellness Centre has begun flooding the outdoor rink and oval rink! It’s estimated the ice will be ready next Thursday; however it’s not guaranteed and is weather dependant. The Rec Centre asks that everyone stays off the ice until it is officially ready to skate on. Stay tuned for updates as more info becomes available!

It’s a battle of East versus West when the OCN Blizzard head to Winkler this weekend to face the Flyers in a pair of games starting Friday. The Blizzard are in a battle for 4^th place in the west, one point behind the Swan Valley Stampeders at 25 points while the Flyers sit at third place in the east at 32 points.

CJAR Will be broadcasting both games, starting with the Great North GM Pre Game Show at 7:15 and puck drop shortly after at 7:30 both nights.

The OCN Storm hit the ice this weekend when they host the Peguis Juniors with a pair of home games. The Storm are short a few players due to injuries however that hasn’t stopped them from holding onto a second place tie with the NCN Flames after a split in the series last weekend.

The Peguis Juniors are in first place in the KJHL at 21 points with the storm only one win behind at 19 points. Both Games will be at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre, Saturday’s game starts at 7:30 while Sunday’s begins at 1:30.

The OCN Blizzard tied their weekend series against the Steinbach Pistons last weekend.

Starting off Friday with a strong first period, the only goal of the period being scored by Brock MacDonald. The Pistons pulled ahead in the second with a tie forced by Aaron Lorenz and eventually a narrow 3-2 loss to the Pistons with a goal by Ty Paisley in the 3rd.

The Blizzard came back with a 3-0 shutout win over the Pistons on Saturday with goals scored by Riley Zimmerman in the first and Bryden Sinclair and Dain Sardelli in the third. Saturday was also Steven Bacovsky's first shutout win with the Blizzard. This week they head to Winkler to face the Flyers Friday and Saturday.

The Kelsey Recreation and Wellness Centre have another pair of free programs this weekend.

Today from 6:30-730 you can hit the ice at the Roy H Johnston Arena with the family. Or head to the Winton Pool on Saturday from 11:15-12:15. It’s recommend you call the Rec Centre at 623-1134 to register as spots are limited.

The OCN Storm head back north to face the NCN Flames in a pair of games.

The Storm have been on a roll recently, Tied with the Peguis Juniors for first in the league at 17 points.

Saturday the puck drops at 7:30, followed by a 1:30 start on Sunday.

The OCN Blizzard have a tough challenge ahead when they face the top team in the league this weekend at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre.

Starting with a game today at 7PM The Blizzard go up against the Steinbach Pistons, who are one point ahead of the Dauphin Kings at 41 points. The next game will be tomorrow at 7PM also at the GLMC

The OCN blizzard fought till the end this weekend with a pair of overtime losses to the Portage Terriers. Both teams fought hard during regular play, including a speedy catch-up to 3 goals on Friday, and a pair of goals early on Saturday By Riley Zimmerman and a goal each game by Dain Sardelli.

But the Terriers emerged victorious in a shootout on Friday and overtime period on Saturday.

The Blizzard hit the ice again this Friday and Saturday at the GLMC when they face the Steinback Pistons.

The OCN Blizzard hit the ice at home this weekend in back to back games when they face the Portage Terriers for a rematch after a 3-0 loss during the MJHL Showcase.

The first of two games is tonight and the puck drops at 7pm today and Saturday, we’ll be broadcasting both games starting at 6:45 with your pre game show.

The Kelsey Recreation and Wellness Centre is offering free skates, swims and drop ins at the Wellness Centre all throughout December.

The month kicks off with a free family swim at the Winton Pool Friday at 5:30 pm. On Sunday December 5^th families can hit the rink for a free skate at the Roy H Johnston Arena from noon to 1pm.

The varsity Volleyball season is coming to a close with a pair of games starting today at MBCI.

Kicking things off with a game at 4:15 pm when Margaret Barbour Collegiate faces HCI in a best of 3 and later go on to face OLC.

Tomorrow both the boys and girls volleyball teams will battle in the final tournament starting at 9 am in Flin Flon. The girl’s games will take place at Mcisaac School and the boys head to Hapnot for theirs.
