OCN Blizzard Hit The Road Twice This Weekend

The OCN Blizzard are preparing to hit the ice in a pair of games this weekend. On Friday the Blizzard hit the ice in Waywayseecappo against the Wolverines at 7:30 PM in a rematch after a 3-2 overtime loss last weekend. Then on Sunday the Blizzard head to Russell to face the Wolverines again at 7 PM after last week’s home game had to be rescheduled due to a lockdown in the OCN. 102.9 CJAR will be broadcasting both games, starting at 7:15 PM on Friday and 6:45 PM on Sunday.

Le Pas De Danse Studio Enchanted Dance Program

The Le Pas De Danse Studio has spots available for their Enchanted Ballet program starting next month. The program is split into three age groups for kids aged 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8 years old and will be focusing on Alice in Wonderland. Drop ins are welcome however registration is required, which you can do here.

Close Game For The OCN Blizzard

The OCN Blizzard took the Waywayseecappo Wolverines into overtime last night in the only game in the MJHL.

 

Starting with a scoreless first period the blizzard opened the second period with a goal scored by Levi Thiessen, assisted by Riley Zimmerman and newly aquired Kayden Sutherland. Half way through the second period Leyton Smith tied things up with a goal, until Brock MacDonald scored a powerplay goal in the final 2 minutes of the period.

 

The loan goal of the 3rd period was scored two minutes into the first period by Owen Wheatly of the Wolverines, forcing a scoreless overtime period. with a single shootout goal by the Wolverines resulting in one point for the OCN Blizzard.

 

The Next time the two teams will meet has been reschuduled to Sunday January 29th at 7PM in Russel Manitoba.

Today's OCN Blizzard Game Postponed

It’s a quieter weekend than usual for the OCN Blizzard as today’s home game against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines has been postponed due to the lockdown within the OCN.

 

The Blizzard will head to Waywayseecappo to face the wolverines on Sunday. CJAR will be broadcasting the game starting at 5:45 PM with your pregame show.

Le Pas De Danse Studio Gym and Song Program

Le Pas de Danse Studio is now taking registration for their Gym and Song program for 1 to 2 and a half year old toddlers. Parents or caregivers will guide their young ones through activities focused on movement, language, motor skills and more through play. Rough Weekend For The OCN Blizzard

The OCN Blizzard couldn’t pick up any points in Selkirk last weekend after a 10-3 and 6-1 loss to the Steelers. Goals scored over the weekend by Ashton Paul, Dain Sardelli, Riley Zimmerman and Saturday's lone Blizzard goal by Aaron Lorenz.

 

Last weekend also marks the end of out of division play, with all future games being played in the west starting with a game in Waywayseecappo on Sunday. Friday’s home game against the wolverines has been postponed due to the ongoing lockdown in the OCN.

The Pas Huskies U9 House League Tournament Cancelled

The Pas Huskies U9 House League Tournament has been canceled due to the current health orders surrounding Covid-19. Those who registered are asked to contact Brooke or Brendan to arrange for refunds.

Dain Sardelli Named MJHL Player of The Week

OCN Blizzard forward Dain Sardelli Has earned the MJHL’s Player of the Week Award after a goal filled weekend against the Winnipeg Freeze.

 

Although The Blizzard lost Friday’s game in a 7-6 overtime shootout, Sardelli scored a hat trick that night with 4 goals, three of those goals were scored in the third period. Other Goals that night include Brock MacDonald in the first and Riley Zimmerman in the final minutes of the third.

 

The Blizzard took home three out of four points last weekend when they beat the Freeze 6-5 Saturday. Sardelli pulled off a second hat trick that night with two goals in the first period and another to keep the Blizzard ahead in the final minutes of the third period. Mike Hlady also scored two goals and Riley Zimmerman scored one.

 

Dain Sardelli wrapped up the weekend with 7 goals in two nights and now sits at 19 goals this season.
