OCN Blizzard

It was a great weekend for the OCN Blizzard. OCN started out by bruising the Neepawa Natives confidence with an 8-0 spanking on Friday, then went on to beat this year’s best team in the league two games in a row. OCN beat Steinbach 2-1 in overtime on Saturday and got a 2-1 straight time win on the Pistons on Sunday. With the weekend wins the Blizzard have moved to 2nd place in the MJHL standings, just 2 points back of the Pistons. Their next game is this Saturday at the GLMC against Winkler.

The OCN Blizzard have a full slate on this last weekend of October with 3 games on their schedule. The third place in the MJHL Blizzard host 8th place Neepawa tonight at the GLMC at 7 o’clock. OCN hope to move a little closer to the top of the standings when they entertain the league’s top team Steinbach both Saturday andSunday

The OCN Blizzard took on their biggest rival in the league last night. And it was a fight to the finish at the GLMC last night. The game went to overtime and OCN scored a 5-4 win over the Swan Valley Stampeders. The Blizzard have a busy week of work at home. They’ll welcome Neepawa on Friday and Steinbach both Saturday andSunday.

After a tough start to the weekend road trip, the OCN Blizzard got quite a confidence boost. The Blizzard were in Winkler on Friday and Saturday and they lost both of those games to the Flyers. On Sunday, OCN went to Portage La Prairie and finished the 3-day run with a huge 10-2 win over the Terriers. The Blizzard will take a two day rest before welcoming the Swan River Stampeders to the GLMC on Wednesday.


OCN Blizzard Set Out on the Road

The nationally ranked OCN Blizzard set out of the road this weekend to face Winkler and Portage. The OCN Blizzard sit 16th in the country wide rankings and meet the Winkler Flyers tonight and tomorrow. The road trip wraps up Sunday in Portage against the Terriers. All 3 games this weekend will be broadcasted on 102.9 CJAR and

It was like instant replay at the GLMC over the weekend. The OCN Blizzard welcomed the Virden Oil Capitols to the ice both Friday and Saturday. Both games finished with OCN beating Virden 2-0. After the weekend's wins, OCN is in 3rd place in the league with a record of 7-1-1. They hit the road this weekend for 2 games in Winkler and a game in Portage.

Back on the road tonight for the OCN Blizzard. After last night’s game in Virden, OCN continues a mini two game swing in Portage tonight. The Blizzard and Terriers meet at 7:30pm with OCN looking for revenge after falling in Overtime 5-4 to Portage 2 weeks ago. The Blizzard are one of the hottest team in the MJHL and are looking to continue success in the month of October.


Curling Registration

Registration has been extended for Curling in the Pas. The curling season is upon us and tonight will be one final night of registration. Adults can sign up for the winter long curling season tonight from 7 to 9pm. It will be held at The Pas Curling Club beside the Roy H Johnston arena tonight.


OCN Blizzard

The OCN Blizzard had a great Thanksgiving weekend. They were home and got 2 "Ws" at the GLMC. Goalies Emiele (Eh-MEAL) Boily and Brett Epp each got a win. The Blizzard shadowed the Winnipeg Blues 4-3 on Fridayand got by the Blues again, 3-2 on Saturday. OCN start the year 4-0-1 through a 5-game homestand. The Blizzard hit the road this morning for the first time this season. They’ll be in Virden tonight against the Oil Capitols then face the Terriers in Portage tomorrow.

The OCN Blizzard have 2 games in as many nights on the Thanksgiving weekend. The Blizzard will host the Winnipeg Blues both tonight and tomorrow night at the GLMC. Tickets will be available at the gate prior to the games. Start time for each night is 7 and if you can’t make tonight’s action, catch it here on 102-9 CJAR. Jaret Schneider has the pre-game show at 6:45 and will call the plays as they happen. Elsewhere tonight, the Dauphin Kings welcome the Winkler Flyers. Portage is at Selkirk.





There were 2 games played in the MJHL last night. Steinbach got trounced at home, 5-1 by the Winnipeg Blues. Neepawa beat the Kings in Dauphin 4-2. Tonight, the Neepawa Natives continue on the road. They’ll play the Oil Capitols in Virden in the only game on the schedule. The OCN Blizzard host Winnipeg both Friday andSaturday.


The Pas Billiards 2016 Pool League to Begin

The Pas Billiards 2016 Pool League starts up this month. The season starts October 19th and runs every Wednesday night for 24 weeks. The league plays in 4 player teams plus spares and the cost is ten dollars per player per week. OCN Blizzard

The OCN Blizzard came from behind and tied it late in the third then took it to overtime against the Portage Terriers on Saturday. The Terriers took the win 4-3. The Blizzard now sit 2-0-1 on the season and will host the Winnipeg Blues Friday and Saturday. Last night, Portage beat the Stampeders 4-2 in Swan River, Selkirk doubled Dauphin 8-4, Steinbach embarrassed Wayway  9-1 and Winnipeg beat Virden 4-3 in OT.
