OCN Blizzard Sign New Forward

The OCN Blizzard have signed forward Kai Clayton to the team. 2004 born Clayton from Delta BC spent his 21-22 season with the Delta Hockey Academy U18 Prep Program. Welcome to the team Kai!

Annual Whitehead Volleyball Tournament

The Annul Whitehead Family Volleyball Tournament hit the sand over the weekend!

 

Family members from all over came together for a day of fun in the sun to battle it out for the trophy.

 

Jayden Thomas was awarded tournament MVP and Team Justin Japan came on top 25-21 against Team Derek 4 Real ending a 2 year win streak.

NAIG 2023 Tryouts Tomorrow

The 2023 North American Indigenous Games are hosting soccer tryouts for 16U and 19U male and female athletes this weekend!

 

Tryouts for Team Manitoba take place Tomorrow at the Arbor Field beginning at 10AM and wrapping up at approximately 5PM.

 

The North American Indigenous Games are an international sporting competition that occurs every 3 years all over North America. Next year's games take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia July 15th to the 23rd.

The Pas Minor Hockey Looking For Coaches

The Pas Huskies are looking for coaches for the upcoming 2022-23 season for both rep and house leagues!

 

Applicants must complete a criminal record check, vulnerable sector check and child abuse registry check.

The Pas Slo-Pitch League Games This Week

This week in the Pas Slo-Pitch League we enter the final fully scheduled week of regular season games.

 

On Monday team 8 faces 12, followed by 10 versus 11 at Arena 1. Team 1 faces team 6, followed by 3 versus 5 at the Centennial Field. Teams 7 and 13 battle it out in the lone game at the Kinsmen Field.

 

On Wednesday teams 9 and 12 meet for a game at Arena 1 before teams 1 and 7 hit the field shortly after. Team 2 faces team 6 at the first game on the Centennial Field, then teams 4 and 5 face each other before sundown. Team 8 faces team 13 at the Kinsmen Field.

 

Wrapping up the week with another 5 games on Friday. Teams 10 and 12 hit Arena 1, followed by team 2 versus team 7. At the Centennial Field team 3 faces team 6 followed by 1 versus 8. Teams 9 and 13 face each other at the Kinsmen Field.

The Pas Slo-Pitch Year End Tournament

The Pas Slo-Pitch League is looking for teams for the upcoming 2022 Year End Slo-Pitch Tournament.

 

The tournament is set to take place August 5-7th. Beer gardens and concession will be available throughout.

 

A minimum $250 deposit is required to begin registration, teams interested should contact Erik Bignell at 620-5152.

Swimming Lesson Registration Begins at the Kelsey Recreation and Wellness Centre

Registration for swimming lessons at the Winton Pool has opened up with the Kelsey Recreation and Wellness Centre!

 

The first sessions kick off July 18th with different sessions every week until August 26th. Options are available for lessons once or twice a day depending on the session chosen.

 

The cost is $62 for preschool to level 3, $71 for levels 4-10 and $83 for swim patrol.

Halcrow Lake Golf and Country Club Texas Scramble Results

The Halcrow Lake Golf and Country Club hosted their Texas Scramble over the weekend!

 

Kevin McGillivary, Al Burrell, Tyler Dorion and Mike Zolinski of Team M.Z. shot a score of 55 to place first with a $1,200 prize!

OCN Blizzard Sign Dryden DeMelo

The OCN Blizzard have signed goaltender Dryden DeMelo from Victoria, BC.

 

Dryden played for the Kerry Park Islanders of the VIJHL last year, earning a 3.37 Goals Against Average and a .897 Save Percentage during the team's playoff games. Welcome to the team Dryden!

OCN Blizzard Looking for Billet Families

The OCN Blizzard are still on the hunt for billet families to support the players during the 2022-23 season.

 

Billet families play an important role in aiding with the development of players during their stay. treating the players like one of the family while providing nutritious meals and snack in a non-smoking household.

 

Billet families receive one season ticket per household, $400 a month for meals and lodging costs, Invitations to team events and in many cases long lasting relationships with the players and their families.

Opaskwayak Indigenous Days Begins Registration for Soccer

Opaskwayak Indigenous Days has begun registration for their events taking place next month including a ton of soccer tournaments.

 

There will be free co-ed tournaments for kids 6 and under, 10 to 12, and 13 to 15 years old.

 

The Men's Open and Women's Open Soccer Tournaments each have $9,000 in prizes. The 35+ Men's Open Soccer Tournament has $3,500 in prizes currently.
