The Pas Renewal Corp launches free community nights

The Pas Renewal Corp has worked with the Kelsey Rec Centre, Winton Pool and Roy H Johnston Arena for free community nights with public swims, public skates and drop ins at the wellness centre.


The first rollout for community nights start this Saturday at the Wellness Centre from 7-8. The first public swim will be December 7th from 7-8pm and the first free public skate kicks off December 9th from 5:30-7:30pm.

OCN Blizzard Weekend Games

The OCN Blizzard - after dropping their last 3 games at the hands of the Virden Oil Capitals will be in action tonight and tomorrow at the GLMC as the Winkler Flyers are in town. The Blizzard lost in overtime in Winkler with their only matchup so far this season. With OCN sitting 2nd last in the standings 19 points - Neepawa is only 1 point behind the Blizzard.


Winkler currently sits 5th riding a 12-10-2-0 record and 26 points.


Action tonight at the GLMC will be at 7pm with Saturday nights game also at 7

MBCI's Varisty Boys team off to Provincial Finals

MBCI’s varsity volleyball teams were in Thompson this past weekend for the Zone Finals. The girls team placed 2nd with the boys beating Thompson in the finals and are the Zone 11 AAA champions. The boys team will be travelling to Winnipeg on November 28th to play in the provincial finals. Dylan Stark received the honours playing in the volleyball graduating all-star game for all of Manitona. Lucas Mack received an honourable mention in the same award.

Pas Huskies to host Hockey Manitoba Provincials for Male Atom 1 division

The Pas will play host to the Male Atom A1 Division for the Hockey Manitoba Provincials from March 15-17th. A host city for Atom A2 has yet to be announced with other cities such as Portage, Rivers, Souris and McCreary hosting other divisions of Male Atom hockey. Both the Roy H Johnston arena and GLMC will be used for the provincials.

Blizzard make trade with SJHL Laronge Icewolves - Blizzard light the lamp with new forward

The OCN Blizzard have acquired 20 year old forward Tanner Brewster from the Laronge Icewolves in the SJHL for the rights of 20 year old defenceman Wyatt Riendieu. Brewster registered 11 goals and 15 assist's last year for Laronge, currently with 1 goal in 6 games this season. Riendieu played 2 games with OCN before making the choice to leave the team. Despite his departure, his rights were still with OCN. Brewster saw action last night with his new team, scoring the first goal of the game early in the 2nd peroid in OCN's 5-2 victory over Selkirk for a perfect weekend.


Brewster and the Blizzard will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Neepawa Friday night.
