The OCN Blizzard win a set of games while in Neepawa this past weekend.
Fridays game was a nail-biter with only three goals scored throughout the game. Aaron Lorenz scored during the first period, assisted by Drayden Kurbatoff and Briggs Jewett. The second period had Brett Tataryn score a goal assisted by Riley Zimmerman.
During the final 3 minutes of the third the Titans came back with a goal by Dallon Wilton. With a tie close at hand the Titans pulled goalie Gavin Renwick. Now 6 on 5 Cyrus Toth was sent to the box after a fight which resulted in a 4 on 6 battle for the Blizzard during the final minutes of play.
Saturday the Titans kept the pressure on the entire game with a much different 32-17 shots on goal. Aaron Lorenz opened up the night with his 6th goal of the season assisted by Mike Hlady and Drayden Kurbatoff, only for Rylan Gudnason to tie the period with a minute and 15 seconds left.
The Second period was penalties filled, with four penalties being served by the Blizzard and five by the Titans. Jaeger Lapointe and Camden Smith served two of these penalties (cross checking and high sticking respectively) at the same time giving the OCN Blizzard a much needed 3 on 5 allowing Raj Gill to score his first goal of the season and as an OCN Blizzard assisted by Mike Hlady. Plus an earlier goal by Drayden Kurbatoff that was assisted by Mike Hlady the Blizzard ended the period in a tie.
A scoreless third period and overtime period resulted in a shootout, with 3/3 shots being blocked by Steven Bacovsky for the Blizzard. Captain Brayden Sinclair scored the fourth and final goal in the final round of the shootout. Wrapping up the series 3-1 for the Blizzard with two of those wins in Neepawa.
