The OCN Storm’s win streak remains intact after winning their weekend series against the Norway House North Stars.
Saturday’s game saw OCN take control as soon as the puck dropped. Laryn Chaboyer opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first period — a shorthanded tally. In the second period, the Storm racked up four consecutive goals, making it 5–0 heading into the third. Norway House finally got on the board just past the halfway mark of the final frame with a power-play goal from Trayden Guiboche. However, the Storm responded quickly with three unanswered goals to seal an 8–1 victory.
Sunday’s matchup was far more competitive. Unlike Saturday’s game, Norway House’s Trayden Guiboche struck first, notching his second power-play goal of the weekend. OCN’s Hutton Foster tied things up late in the second period with a shorthanded goal.
In the third, the Storm began to pull away again, scoring two quick goals early in the frame. Guiboche once again led the charge for Norway House, cutting the deficit to one after ripping in his third goal of the weekend. But it didn’t take long for Jacey Melnyk and the Storm power-play unit to respond, extending the lead to 4–2. Norway House added one more in the final seconds, but it was too little, too late — the Storm hung on for a 4–3 win.
The 5–1 Storm will continue their road stretch this weekend as they travel to NCN to take on the Flames. Puck drop for Saturday’s game is 7:30 P.M., while Sunday’s matchup gets underway at 1:30 P.M.
