CJAR HAPPY TO ADD OCN STORM GAMES TO THE BROADCAST SEASON.

The OCN Storm Jr. B Hockey Club of the Keystone Junior Hockey League is happy to announce that we will be broadcasting a couple more OCN Storm games on CJAR Radio. 


We will have coach's comments before each game and player profiles during the intermissions as well.

 

We are excited to anounce that we will feature the Rogers Hometown Hockey Game in Peguis on February 29th and March 1st of 2020.

THE OCN BLIZZARD PICK UP A LOSS IN SWAN RIVER AGAINST THE SWAN VALLEY STAMPEEDERS

The Ocn Blizzard had a tough time in Swan River last night as they travelled to Swan to face the Stampeeders

 

The Blizzard had goals from newcomers Aiden Litke and Jaxon Blight.

 

Swan Valley would score four goals in the opening frame en-route to a 7-3 win on home ice. Ryley Lanthier opened the scoring 2:33 into tonight’s contest, picking up his third as a Stampeder. Recent call up for the OCN Blizzard, Aiden Litke, would tie the game just under three minutes later. Luke Beerman would respond for Swan Valley, scoring his 12th of the year on the power play at 8:18 of the opening frame. Lane Kirk and Frazer Dodd would help setup Tommy Cardinal, who scored his 12th of the year at 16:48. Daunte Fortner would score his fourth of the year with 1:01 left in the first period, and the Stampeders would head to the dressing room up 4-1, and 18-5 in the shot department.

Josh Maucieri, , would grab a loose puck and wire one past Zack Cloutier at 3:37 of the second period, scoring his fourth of the year. Frazer Dodd scored his 14th of year as he sent a weak shot on goal that handcuffed Cloutier 8:34 into the middle frame. Jaxon Blight responded less than a minute and a half later, beating Mikael Foucher for his first of the year. 19-year-old Nathan Carl picked up a loose puck and skated in all alone scoring on a short handed breakaway at 17:57.

A scoreless third period would allow the Stampeders to claim their 23rd win of the season. Tonight’s win on home ice increased their win streak to five games, and their point streak to eight games.

 

Next game for the Blizzard is his Friday in The Past for a neutral site game against the Portage Terriers 

Game time from the Roy H Johnston arena is set for 7pm.

OCN BLIZZARD WITH A BUSY WEEK AHEAD.

The OCN Blizzard have a couple of big games coming up this week. 

With a split this past weekend with the Neepawa Natives at home this past weekend at the GLMC the Blizzard look good heading into 3 games before th Christmas Break. 

Friday night the Blizzard would force Neepawa into a shoot out to win 4-3. 

Saturday night the Blizzard would force overtime only to fall short in a heartbreaker against the Natives losing 4-3. 

 

The Blizzard will face off against the Swan Valley Stampeeders tomorrow night in Swan River. Gametime is set for 7:30pm

 

The Blizzard will face the Portage Terriers on Friday Night, A neuteral site game which will be at the Roy H. Johnston Arena in The Pas. 

 

 

The Blizzard currently sit in 10th place in the MJHL

 

 

The OCN Blizzard have called up 2003- born forward Aidan Litke from Rink Hockey Academy. Litke will make his debut tomorrow night when the Blizzard face off against the Swan Valley Stampeeders

BILL MCDONALD MEMORIAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MBCI SR VARSITY BOYS TEAM FOR WINNING THE BILL MCDONALD BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT THAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE PAS THIS PAST WEEKEND.

THE LADIES SR VARSITY GIRLS TEAM PLAYED HARD BUT PLACED 3RD IN THIER DIVISION.

THE SPARTAINS WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE TEAMS THAT TOOK PART IN THE TOURNAMENT.

 

BILL MCDONALD BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT TO HAPPEN IN THE PAS THIS WEEKEND!!

THE 8TH ANNUAL BILL MC DONALD BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT WILL BE HAPPENING THURSDAY DECEMBER 12TH AT UCN GYM, MBCI GYM AND OSCAR LATHLIN COLLEGIATE GYM. 

SIX HIGH SCHOOL BOYS AND GIRLS TEAMS FROM NORTHERN MANITOBA WILL BE TAKING PART IN THIS TOURNAMENT. 

 

OPENING CEREMONIES WILL BE AT THE MBCI GYM AT 6:30PM FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH. 

THERE WILL BE A SKILLS NIGHT ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 13TH AT 7PM AT THE MBCI GYM. 

 

THE RORATY CLUB OF THE PAS WILL BE HANDING OUT $1000.00 BURSARIES FOR THE WINNING BOYS AND GIRLS TEAMS. 

 

CLOSING CEREMONIES WILL BE WILL BE ON SATURDAY NIGHT AT 6:30PM AT THE MBCI GYM.

MBCI JV AND SR. VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL SHINED THIS PAST WEEKEND.

THE MBCI BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY AND SR VARSITY BOYS TEAMS WERE IN BASKETBALL ACTION THIS WEEKEND

THE ST.ANNE LYNX JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL WAS THIS PAST WEEKEND. THEY STARTED OUT THE TOURNAMENT BEATING THE ST. NORBERT CELTICS 45-79 . THEY THEN WENT ON TO FACE THE NIVERVILLE PANTHERS AND BEAT THEM 56-41. AND THEN FACE THE SANFORD SABERS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL. THE SPARTANS DOWNED THE SABERS 60-42. WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP GOING UNDEFEATED IN THE TOURNAMENT.

 

THE SENIOR VARSITY BOYS WENT TO BEAUSEJOUR FOR THE ECOLE EDWARD SCHREYER BARONS EARLY BIRD VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT.

THE SPARTANS WOULD LOOSE THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE TOURNAMENT 58-71.

AND THEN FALL INTO THE CONSOLATION BRACKET. THEY THEN FACED THE CHURCHILL BULLDOGS AND BEAT THEM 66-42. AND THEN BATTLED THE LORD SELKIRK ROYALS IN THE CONSOLATION FINALS AND HANDED THEM THE LOSS TO WIN THE CONSOLATION FINAL 61-34.

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE BASKETBALL TEAMS THAT WERE IN ACTION THIS PAST WEEKEND!

THE PAS HUSKIES SKATE WITH SANTA IS COMING UP!

Come and Join The Pas Huskies Atom 2nd Team in a Christmas Hockey Carnival!

Come play some carnival games, have a treat, take some photos with Santa and have fun. The OCN Blizzard will be helping with the stations, then join in on the Santa Skate!

OCN STORM WIN ONE AND LOSE ONE AT HOME THIS PAST WEEKEND.

THE OCN STORM HAD A 2 GAME HOME STAND AT THE GLMC THIS PAST WEEKEND.

THE NCN FLAMES WERE IN TOWN TO TAKE ON THE HOMETOWN STORM.

GAME 1 WAS SATURDAY NIGHT.

THE STORM WOULD FORCE OVERTIME BUT NOTHING WOULD FIND THE BACK OF THE NET AS THE GAME WOULD HEAD TO A SHOOT OUT.  KEITH MONIAS WOULD SCORE AT THE END OF THE SHOOT OUT TO WIN THE GAME FOR THE STORM,

GAME 2 WENT SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 1:30.

THE OCN STORM WERE CAUGHT FLAT FOOTED IN THE 1ST PERIOD AS THE NCN FLAMES WOULD

JUMP OUT TO A 6-0 LEAD.

THE STORM WOULD SURGE FOR 3 GOALS IN THE SECOND PERIOD . BUT IT WASN’T ENOUGH. THE FLAMES WOULD BEAT THE STORM WITH A FINAL SCORE OF  12-5…

BRYSON WERBIKI MALLET IS NOW TIED WITH THE SCORING LEAD RACE WITH PEGUIS’S TYROME SPENCE . BOTH WITH 41 POINTS SO FAR THIS SEASON.
