Blizzard Announce Preseason Schedule

The OCN Blizzard and the MJHL have announced a brief 4 game exhibition schedule for the upcoming season. The exhibition schedule sees OCN play just 4 games as opposed to last seasons 6.

The Exhibition Schedule goes as followed:

Sept 10th OCN Blizzard @ Flin Flon Bombers 7pm

Sept 12th Flin Flon Bombers @ OCN Blizzard 7pm

Sept 14th Swan Valley Stampeders @ OCN Blizzard 7pm

Sept 15th OCN Blizzard @ Swan Valley Stampeders

The 4 games will see the OCN Blizzard play the both of the closest teams geographically to OCN each twice, home and away. All games start at 7pm and the first game on Sept 10th is the annual rookie game between the Blizzard and Bombers.

102.9 CJAR will stick with tradition and broadcast 1 exhibition game as a tune up for both the radio station and I. The game is to be determined but most likely will be the Sept 10th game in Flin Flon. I enjoy calling games from the Whitney Forum and this ends up being our only opportunity all year!

The Blizzard will start rookie camp and main camp at the end of august after Opaskwayak Indian Days ends. The GLMC is used for OID every year so the ice cannot be put in until the annual festival is over.

Respect in Sport Course for Parents

Even though it’s the summer months The Pas Minor Hockey is hard at work. Jerome Conaty TPMHA’s director of communications says there’s a respect in sports course on the hockey Canada website mandatory for all parents. The course is for all parents and it must be completed before the upcoming hockey season. To complete the course you can find the link on the pas minor hockey website. TPMHA is looking for a president for the upcoming season as well as coaches for all levels of hockey.
