OCN Blizzard Lose to The Stampders

The OCN Blizzard fell short of their chance to move up in the rankings last night. The Blizzard lost 4-3 to the Stampeders in Swan River. OCN, with a record of 18-7-2 is in third place in the league, a point back of Steinbach and 2 points behind first place Winkler. The Blizzard face Steinbach at OCN twice this weekend.

OCN Storm Take On Cross Lake Islanders Tonight

The OCN Storm welcome the Cross Lake Islanders to the GLMC tonight. This should be a good one. The last time these two teams met, OCN shadowed Cross Lake 9-8. Game time is 7. Tickets will be available at the gate.

OCN Blizzard Action Tonight

The OCN Blizzard take a short trip to Swan River today. The Blizzard, tied for second place with Steinbach and 2 points back of Winkler for first, face the Stampeders tonight at 7:30. The 102-9 CJAR Pre-Game Show starts at 7:15. Marty Martinson calls the play for you when the puck drops at 7:30.

OCN Blizzard Beat Dauphin on Friday Nights Game

The OCN Blizzard was off last weekend but they managed to beat the Dauphin Kings last Friday 3-1 at the Credit Union Place. The Blizzard will play the Swan Valley Stampeders on Wednesday at the Swan River Centennial Arena and the puck will drop at 7:30. The Blizzards next home game will be played on December first against Steinbach.

OCN Storm Win Big On Saturday Night

The OCN Blizzard beat the Norway House North Stars with a big win on Saturday night at GLMC with a final score of 16-4. The Storm is in first place in the North Division and The North Stars are in last place in the same division. The Storm will play their next home game this Thursday against the Cross Lake Islanders at 7PM.

The OCN Blizzard Play One Game This Weekend

The OCN Blizzard have just one game this weekend. The Blizzard hit the road this afternoon. They’ll face the Kings in Dauphin at 7. We’ll have the broadcast on 102.9 CJAR with Marty Martinson at the call. The Pre-Game Show starts at 6:45.

A Big Win For The OCN Storm

The OCN Storm wreaked havoc last. The Storm took a one day road trip to Norway House and destroyed the North Stars 10-0. The Storm are back home. They’ll again take on the Stars tomorrow night at the GLMC. Game time is 8 o’clock.

OCN Storm On The Road

The OCN Storm are on the road. They face the Northstars in Norway House tonight. The Storm have tomorrow off and entertain Norway House at the GLMC on Saturday.

A Big Win For The Blizzard

They wanted redemption and the OCN Blizzard got it. After getting beat 2-1 by Virden on Tuesday, the Blizzard dropped the Oil Capitols 5-2 at the GLMC last night. Top scorer Tony Apetagon  had 2 goals a had an assist in the win. The Blizzard have the day off before heading to Dauphin tomorrow.

OCN Blizzard Loses To Virdin

It was a close one but the Virden Oil Capitols got by the OCN Blizzard with a 2-1 win at the GLMC last night. Kyle Salaway and Hunter Cloutier were Virden’s goal scorers. The lone OCN goal came from George King. The Blizzard get a chance to even the score when they again host Virden tonight. Game time is 7 o’clock and if you can’t get there, we’ll have a live broadcast that starts with the 102.9 CJAR Pre-Game Show at 6:45. Also last night in the MJHL, Portage doubled Winkler 6-3.

OCN Blizzard in First Place

The OCN Blizzard find themselves in first place in the MJHL this morning. The Blizzard added another win to the tally card as they beat the Selkirk Steelers 5-2 in front of a full house at the Roy H. Johnston Arena on Saturday. The game MVP Lance Hiebert had 2 goals. The Blizzard and the Flyers now have 34 points each but OCN has a game in hand. OCN’s next game is tomorrow night when they welcome Virden to the GLMC.

OCN Storm Beat Warriors But Lose to Fisherman

The OCN Storm were 50-50 on the road over the weekend. The Storm were 6-3 winners over the Warriors in St. Malo Friday night. They lost to the Selkirk Fishermen on Saturday. That one ended 7-4.

Bantam AAA Hockey at GLMC

The Norman Wolves and the Central Plains Capitals from The Winnipeg AAA Hockey League will be playing a game at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre tomorrow at 5PM and at the Roy H Johnston Arena on Sunday at 11AM. There will be a 50/50 draw and a progressive loonie stick draw. Admission is four dollars.

Thursday Nights OCN Blizzard Game Postponed

There were no winners in the only MJHL game scheduled last night. The OCN Blizzard-Virden Oil Capitols game in Virden was cancelled due to poor weather driving conditions. No word yet on a make-up date. The Blizzard are in action in The Pas this weekend. OCN plays the Selkirk Steelers tomorrow night at 7 at the Roy H. Johnston Arena. Tickets will be available at the gate and we’ll have a full broadcast on 102-9 CJAR with Marty Martinson at the call. Tonight, Selkirk’s in Neepawa, Steinbach is in Winkler, Dauphin hosts Portage and Winnipeg travels to Waywayseecappo.

OCN Blizzard Face Virdin Tonight

The lone game in the MJHL tonight has the OCN Blizzard in Virden tonight. A win for the Blizzard would give them a shaky one point first place lead over the Steinbach Pistons. Steinbach has a game in hand and plays tomorrow.

Two MJHL Games Tonight

There are 2 games in the MJHL tonight. The Steinbach Pistons are home to the Winkler Flyers. Steinbach has a comfy lead for first place in the league. Neepawa is at Selkirk in the other game. All teams had last night off.

Busy Weekend for The Blizzard

The OCN Blizzard were back on the road yesterday. They went to Waywayseecappo and came home with a 7-4 win over the Wolverines. Daylon Campbell had 2 goals in the win. The Blizzard, second in the MJHL, will be home this week. They entertain Virden on Thursday and Selkirk this Saturday.

OCN Storm lose Saturday Nights Game to St Malo

The OCN Storm couldn’t pull off the win at the GLMC Saturday night. OCN fell just short, 4-3 to St. Malo. The Storm get a rematch this Friday in St. Malo.

Another Win For The Blizzard

The OCN Blizzard have another win to add to the score sheet. After goals from Anthony Keeper, Byron Fobair, Daniel Chartrand and Matthew Greening, the Blizzard headed back home with a 4-1 win over the Kings in Dauphin. OCN has a couple of days rest before hitting the road again. They’ll be in Waywayseecappo to face the Wolverines on Sunday.

Big Win For The OCN Storm

The OCN Storm didn’t need to play very hard last night. They beat Norway House in a 16-2 shocker at the GLMC last night. The Storm’s next game is tomorrow night at 8. They’ll face St. Malo at the GLMC. Tickets available at the gate.

OCN Blizard Game Cancelled Last Night

Last night’s OCN Blizzard game was cancelled due to mechanical problems with the OCN Blizzard bus. Keep listening to 102.9 CJAR for details on the status of tonight’s game. Elsewhere in the league last night, Virden beat Swan Valley 3-1, Winnipeg took a 6-1 beating at the hands of the Steinbach Pistons and Selkirk shadowed Neepawa 5-4.

OCN Blizzard On The Road Again

The OCN Blizzard set out on a road trip today. The Blizzard will be in Portage La Prairie tonight to face the Terriers. OCN are 3rd in the MJHL standings. Portage is 6th.  The Blizzard is in Dauphin tomorrow before heading home. They’re back out Sunday to face the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in Wayway. Tonight’s game will be broadcast live on 102-9 CJAR starting at 7:15 with the Pre-Game Show.

MBCI Senior Girls Finish Third in Varsity Volleyball Tournament

MBCI Senior girls volleyball team finished third place in there pool last weekend at the Volleyball Tournament in Brandon. This weekend the MBCI Junior boys and girls varsity teams will be headed to Thompson for their zone finals.

Busy Week For The OCN Blizzard

They were both pretty even games and it was a 50-50 weekend for the OCN Blizzard. The Blizzard welcomed the Winkler Flyers to 2 games at the GLMC over the weekend. OCN fell short in a 2-1 win for Winkler on Friday but would get a 3-2 win on Saturday. The Blizzard have a busy week on the road, with games in Portage, Dauphin and Waywayseecappo. OCN is tied with Winkler for 2nd place in the league however, the Flyers have 2 games in hand.

OCN Storm Win 9-8

The OCN Storm went to Cross Lake to face the Islanders on Saturday. It too was a close one but OCN would win it 9-8. The Storm’s next game is Thursday against Norway House at the GLMC.

OCN Blizzard Weekend Action

The OCN Blizzard have two games at home this weekend. The Blizzard are tied with Steinbach and Winkler although tose teams both have two games in hand. OCN welcomes Winkler tonight and tomorrow night at 7. Tickets are available at the gate prior to puck drop. Elsewhere tonight, Dauphin is in Virden Portage welcomes Selkirk and Neepawa is home to Winnipeg.

OCN Storm Headed To Cross Lake

The OCN Storm are on the road for one. They head to Cross Lake to face the Islanders tomorrow night. The Storm are in first place in the north division, fourth overall.

OCN Blizzard Lose to Swan Valley

The OCN Blizzard had a rough first period and it cost them the game. The Swan Valley Stampeders had 14 shots on net in the first; the Blizzard had 5. OCN played much better in the second and third frame but it wasn’t enough as OCN fell to their league rival 5-4. Elsewhere in the MJHL, Neepawa doubled Waywayseecappo 10-5. This weekend, the Blizzard welcome the Flyers for games both Friday and Saturday night.

Junior Varsity Volleyball Tournament Results

The Junior Varsity Volleyball Tournament was held last week here in The Pas at MBCI and Scott Bateman Middle School. The RD Parker Collegiate Trojans won in the girls division against Norway House. And the MBCI Spartans won the boys division against Grand Rapids.

The Senior Girls and boys Volleyball Teams will be headed to a tournament in Brandon on November 3rd and the 4th.

OCN Blizzard VS Swan Valley Stampeders Tonight

The OCN Blizzard welcome their rival Swan Valley Stampeders to the GLMC tonight. The Blizzard are tied for first in the MJHL with Steinbach and Winkler. Tickets will be available at the gate prior to puck drop. 102.9 CJAR will have live coverage. Catch the pre-game show with Marty Martinson at 6:45. Last night, Winkler beat the Winnipeg Blues 2-1.
