2019 WESCANA CUP PEE WEE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!

THE WESCANA PEE WEE HOCKEY CUP THIS PAST WEEKEND WAS A HUGE SUCCESS.

TEAMS FROM ALL OVER NORTHERN MANITOBA AND SASKATCHEWAN WERE PLAYING FOR THE PEE WEE CHAMPIONSHIP.

 

THE B SIDE FINAL FEATURED THE PAS HUSKIES AGAINST SWAN RIVER. SWAN RIVER WOULD WIN THE B-SIDE FINAL. WITH A SCORE OF 3-2

THE PAS HUSKIES WON THE CONSOLATION ON THE A1 GAME WITH THE LOSS TO SWAN RIVER.

 

AND THE WESCANA CUP CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL  FINAL FEATURED THOMPSON VS FLIN FLON. : FLIN FLON WOULD WIN THE WESCANA CUP WITH A FINAL SCORE OF 4-3.

2019 Wescana Inn PeeWee Hockey Tournament All Set to Go THIS WEEKEND!!!

THE WESCANA INN  PEEWEE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT IS ALL SET TO GO NEXT WEEKEND AT THE ROY H. JOHNSTON ARENA IN THE PAS AND THE GORDON LATHLIN MEMORIAL CENTER IN OPASKWAYAK,. 

 

The Pas PeeWee Huskies are excited to announce that there will be 11 Teams in attendance. Please come out and show your support for The Pas & OCN Minor Hockey. 

 

The Tournament will be happening November 22nd-24th/2019

 Let's help them hear the fans in the stands!!

OCN BLIZZARD LOSE 2 AT HOME THIS PAST WEEKEND.

The OCN Blizzard were at home this past weekend for a couple of games Friday and Saturday night at the GLMC.

 

Game 1 Friday Seen the Selkirk Steelers come to town.

The Blizzard would fall to the Steelers and get shut out with a score of 4-0.

Goaltender Dannick Rodrigue would face 26 shots in this game in front of 236 faithful fans at the GLMC.

 

Game 2 was set for Saturday night as the Winkler Flyers came into town.

former Blizzard Carson Pawlenchuck would get a goal in his return to the GLMC to help the Flyers past the Blizzard 4-1. 

D-Man Darren Gisti would ad to his point total with one goal in the second period.

This game would feature The Pas Huskies Novice teams facing off during the intermission. Making it for a wonderful experience for the players and fans alike.

 

Next games for the Blizzard will be this Wednesday as they travel to Waywaysecappo to Battle the Wolverines and then a long weekend road trip with games Friday and Saturday night in Virden to face the Oil Capitals. and Sunday with a game in Neepawa.

All this weekends games can be heard on 102.9 CJAR.

NORMAN NORTHSTARS A GREAT DRAW FOR FANS IN THE PAS / OCN.

This weekend featured a couple of games by the Norman North Stars AAA Under 18 hockey club in The Pas, and OCN as they took on the Parkland Rangers in a couple of back to back games.

Saturday Night the North Stars played well. coming out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st period on a goal by Dredyn Robinson on the Power Play.

The second period was a little more even. The North Stars came out with a goal 3 mins into the second by Captain Jordan Pfoh to make the score 2-0. Then the Parkland Rangers would get on the board to make it 2-1. Dredyn Robinson would ad a second power play goal to put the North Stars back up 2 goals. to make it 3-1. But the Rangers wouldn't be undone. as they would score with 2 mins left to go in the second to make the score 3-2 going into the second intermission.

The Parkland Rangers would even up the game 3-3 5 mins into the 3rd frame. On an ensuing power play. Captain Jordan Pfoh would add another power play goal to put the North Stars back in the lead 4-3. The Parkland Rangers would pull the goalie with 2 mins left in the 3rd and would capitalize on the extra attacker and even the score 4-4. which would send the game into overtime.

The Norman North Stars would get a couple of glorious chances into the overtime period. but the Parkland Rangers would once again capitalize on their chance and score at 1:56 into the overtime and beat the Norman North Stars 5-4 in Overtime.

 

Game 2 was Sunday Afternoon at the GLMC in Opaskwayak Cree Nation.

The 1st period would see no scoring by either team.

The second period was a tight frame as each team played each other very well. But the Parkland Rangers would draw 1st blood making the game 1-0 and the lone goal after the second period.

The Norman North Stars would get a power play chance to even the tilt. But the Parkland Rangers would score short handed making the score 2-0 after the Sunday Matinee game.

Next games for the Norman North Stars are this weekend as they return home to Thompson at the C.A. Nesbit Arena against the Southwest Cougars.

OCN MINOR HOCKEY LOOKING FOR BOARD MEMBERS

Opakswayak Cree Nation Minor Hockey is looking for Board Members for the upcoming hockey season. 

The Annual General Meeting will be held at the GLMC on Wednesday Nov. the 15th, 6pm  in the Lobby.

Positions for the bard include:

-President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Director of Hockey Development, Referee in Chief, Equipment Manager, Registrar, Fundraising Co-Coordinator. 

All Parents and community member are encouraged to come out and vote and support minor hockey in OCN.

OCN BLIZZARD WITH HUGE WIN ON THE ROAD AGAINST THE WOLVERINES

The OCN Blizzard were victorious on the road. They traveled to Waywaysecappo to take.on the Wolverines. 

 

The Blizzard won with a score.of 8-2. Darren Gisti and Wes Dobbin had 2 goals each. 
 
Next action for the Blizzard is this weekend at the GLMC against The Virden Oil Capitals on Saturday. Game time is set for 7pm
 
The Blizzard will play on Sunday as well against the Dauphin Kings. Game time is 6pm.
