Blizzard Continue Homestand

The OCN Blizzard continue a long home stand tonight against a close rival. The Swan Valley Stampeders come to town to tangle with the Blizzard. Puck drop tonight is at 7pm at the GLMC. The OCN Blizzard hold a 6-5-2 record and are currently riding a 3 game win streak. Tonight’s game can be heard on 102.9 CJAR with Jaret Schneider.

OCN Storm

The Storm won both their games this weekend and are 3-0-3 and off to a great start the year.

 

Saturday night they beat the Peguis Juniors 6-3 and followed it up with a 6-1 win over Fisher River yesterday. The Storm will be at home this weekend for two games, Saturday against Cross Lake and Sunday against St. Malo.

 

OCN Blizzard

The OCN Blizzard picked up 2 wins in 3 games at home.

 

They dropped a tight one Friday night with a score of  5-4 for the Neepawa Natives, but rebounded by blowing out the same Neepawa team 7-1 Saturday. Last night they completed the weekend set with a 4-3 shootout win over the Winnipeg Blues.

 

Currently OCN has 3 of the top 4 scorers in the MJHL. Logan Harland leads the league with 23 points, Devin Muir sits third with 22 and Jeremy Dumont is 4th with 21. Next Blizzard game is Thursday night against the Winkler Flyers, puck drop is at 7pm at the GLMC.

 

MJHL Weekend Schedule

It's a busy night in MJHL action.

 

There are 5 games on the tonight's schedule including the OCN Blizzard home to the Neepawa Natives. It's the first of 3 games at home with a rematch for the Blizzard and Neepawa tomorrow night, and then the third when they play host to Winnipeg on Sunday.

 

All 3 games start at 7 at the GLMC and tickets will be available at the gate prior to the game.

Grey Cup Day

This Monday is grey cup day in The Pas.

 

The Grey Cup will start its tour of Northern Manitoba in The Pas on Oct. 19 with a meet and greet being held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall from 9 to noon, where fans will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the grey cup

Also along for the ride will be Blue Bombers alumni Doug Brown and Brett McNeill.

“Hosting the Grey Cup is a once-in-a-generation opportunity,  Jason Smith, president of the 103rd Grey Cup Festival. “Although Winnipeg will be hosting the Grey Cup championship game on Nov. 29, Jason Smith president of the 103rd Grey Cup Festival says they wanted the whole province to participate in the Grey Cup excitement, and the tour will connect thousands of Manitobans to make sure they can enjoy the Grey Cup spirit as well.”

The Pas Mayor, Jim Scott has proclaimed October 19th as Grey Cup Day in The Pas and encourages everyone to wear their favorite team jersey for the day
