Blizzard Start New Season On Road

The OCN Blizzard will open the 2015-16 season on the road. The first game of the regular season will be Sept 25th @ Swan Valley.

For OCN the 2015-16 Schedule has just about everything you can think of, from road trips to home stands, to long christmas breaks, to day trips to visit some of the closer teams.

The MJHL opens its 60-game regular season on Friday, September 25 with 10 of 11 teams in action. The entire Blizzard schedule can be found on the MJHL website.

Teams will play a balanced schedule three games at home/three games on the road against each opponent.

This year the home opener is Oct 6th vs Swan Valley.

The Blizzard will play 31 games away from OCN, and 29 at the GLMC. One game at the MJHL Showcase in Winnipeg is credited as a Blizzard home game(Oct 3 vs Selkirk).

The Christmas break has OCN play their last game Dec 20th @ Selkirk giving out of province players that afternoon and evening a chance to catch a plane back home. They will be back on the ice Jan 3rd @ Dauphin.

The season will end Mar 2 for OCN at home to the Dauphin Kings.

Moving into the playoffs, a total of 10 teams will make the post-season. Teams finishing 7th to 10th will participate in separate, best-of-three Survivor Series to determine playoff seeding. The seventh-place team will play No. 10, while No. 8 will face off against No. 9. Winners then move on to the regular playoff format which will be best-of-seven series:  1st playing 8th, 2nd vs 7th, 3rd vs 6th and 4th vs 5th.

Just a reminder Blizzard rookie camp starts at the end of August with Main camp and exhibition games to be played throughout September.
