Spartans Compete for Provincial Badminton Championships

The Margret Barbour Collegiate Spartans have a chance to play in the Provincial Badminton championships.

 

This weekend they will go to Thompson for the zone playoffs and the top two from each area move on to play in the provincials.

 

The provincials run from May 5th until the 6th.

OCN Blizzard Annual Windup Dinner

The OCN Blizzard will be having their annual windup dinner this Friday at Kikiwak Inn.

The event will  have items up for auction and season tickets for sale. Tickets are 25 dollars each and can be purchased at paper works plus.

 

OCN board member Randi Salamanowicz is very happy with how this year’s season turned out.

Portage Terriers Win The Turnbull Cup

The Portage Terriers beat the OCN Blizzard last night 1-0, winning the Turnbull Cup in game six of the MJHL finals.

 

The Terriers will now move on to the Western Canada Cup Series in Penticton B.C. The tournament runs from April 29th to May 7th.

 

 

 

Battlefords Stars Win the Canalta Cup

The Battlefords Stars won the Canalta Cup last night when the beat the Flin Flon Bombers 6-5.

 

The Stars swept the Bombers four nothing in the SJHL finals series and they will now have a shot at the Western Canada Cup.

Flin Flon Bombers Lose in Overtime

The Battlefords North Stars are leading the SJHL finals 3-0 over the Flin Flon Bombers. They beat the Bombers 2-1 in overtime last night and they could win the Canalta Cup with a four nothing sweep. All the action starts tonight at the Whitney Forum at 7:30.

 

 

 

 

Portage Terriors Lead 3-2 Over The OCN Blizzard

The Portage Terriers are leading the MJHL finals series 3-2 against the OCN Blizzard. The Terriers beat the Blizzard in game four 4-3 in overtime and 3-1 in game five. Game six will be played at the Portage Credit Union Centre tonight.

 

If the Blizzard wins game six, game seven will be played in OCN on April 22nd.

Portage Terriers Beat OCN Blizzard in Game 3

The Portage Terriers won game three of the MJHL finals beating the OCN Blizzard 3-2 on Wednesday night.

 

The Terriers will take on the Blizzard in game four tonight at 7:30 and the game will be broadcast live on 102.9 CJAR starting at 7:15.

 

The Blizzard continue to lead the series 2-1.

 

Game five will be played on Sunday at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre at 7PM.

 

 

Flin Flon Bombers Take on Battlefords Stars in the Finals

The Flin Flon Bombers will be going to the SJHL finals for their second year in a row.

 

The Bombers won the semi final series against the Nipiwan Hawks and they will take on the Battlefords Stars in the finals.

 

Game one will be played against the Stars at the NB Civic Centre on April 14th.

 

The puck drops at 7:30 PM.

Flin Flon Bombers Down 3-1

The Flin Flon Bombers will take on the Nipiwin hawks tonight at the Whitney forum. It will be game five of the best of seven SJHL semi-final series. The Hawks lead the series three games to one. Puck drops at 7:30.

MJHL Finals Tickets on Now

The OCN Blizzard will host the Portage Terriers in games one and two this weekend. The MJHL finals get underway tomorrow night at 7PM at the GLMC. The series pits the MJHL MVP Brady Keeper against the MJHL leading scorer Jeremy Leipsic. Rush tickets can be bought today at paperworks plus and seated season tickets can be bought at the Blizzard office from 9AM till 2PM.

Blizzard Tickets on Sale Today

The OCN Blizzard and Portage Terriers will open up the MJHL Finals in OCN this weekend. The Blizzard will host the Terriers in Game 1 on Saturday, followed by Game 2 on Sunday. Game time is 7pm each night. Rush Tickets can be bought today and tomorrow at Paperworks Plus. Seated Season Tickets as well as Rush tickets can be bought at the Blizzard office from 6 to 8 pm tonight, and 9am to 2pm tomorrow.

Blizzard to meet Terriers in MJHL Finals

The OCN Blizzard will meet the Portage Terriers in the MJHL Finals! After defeating the Pistons in game 6 last night the Terriers are into the finals for the third straight year. For OCN it's their first trip to the finals since 2006. The best of 7 series will tentatively start this weekend with dates to still be determined. The winner of the MJHL will move onto Penticton, BC, for the Western Canada Cup at the end of the month.

Bombers Win First of Series vs Hawks

The Flin Flon Bombers are back in their SJHL Semi Final Series after beating the Nipawin Hawks 3-2 last night. The Hawks now lead the series 2-1 with game 4 tonight in Nipawin this evening.

Blizzard await Winner of Terriers-Pistons

The OCN Blizzard await the winner of the Steinbach Pistons and Portage Terriers Semi-Final Series.  Game 6 goes tonight in Portage and the Terriers have a 3-2 series lead. Game time is 7:30pm. OCN will get the winner in the MJHL finals.

Bombers Host Hawks in Game 3 Tonight

The Flin Flon Bombers take on the Nipawin Hawks at home tonight at 7:30. Tonight is game three of the semi final best of seven series and the hawks are leading two nothing. Game four is in Nipawin tomorrow night.

Blizzard wait for Opponent in MJHL Finals

The OCN Blizzard are waiting to start the final MJHL playoff series. Game 5 of the semi-finals between Portage and Steinbach played out last night with Steinbach taking that one at home, 3-2. Portage holds a 3-2 series lead. Game 6 is in Portage tomorrow.

Bombers Trail Hawks 2-0

The Flin Flon Bombers are down 2-0 in the SJHL Semi-Final, best of 7 Series. Flin Flon lost 2-1 to Nipawin on Friday and again 3-2 to the Hawks on Saturday. Game 3 goes back to Flin Flon tomorrow night
