Tonight the OCN Blizzard play their first of two games against the Portage Terriers at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre. The puck drops at 7 and game two goes tomorrow at the same time.

Margret Barbour Collegiates boy’s golf team is headed to Hecla for the provincial finals today and the senior varsity volleyball teams are going to Roblin on Friday for an invitational tournament. 

MBCI announced that they will also be hosting the zones cross country race on October 1^st.

The Pas Minor Hockey Association is hosting a Try Hockey for free day on October 6^th at The Roy H Johnston Arena at 2:30PM. The Pas Minor Hockey Association is inviting all community members to attend and to consider having their children play hockey.

The OCN Storm ran their training camp at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre over the weekend.

Around 50 people attended mostly young local players and general manager Jeremy Hohn is really excited for the season to start.

The KJHL season is expected to begin sometime after thanksgiving.    

The OCN Blizzard are on the road as they play a rematch exhibition game against the SJHL’s La Ronge Ice Wolves. Game time is 7:30.

Marcel Fontaine is the new head coach for The OCN Storm Junior B Hockey Club. Fontanne previously worked as the team’s assistant coach for the past four years who has also played Junior A Hockey in the past.

Jeremy Hohn the General Manager of the Storm says it’s nice to have Fontaine on board and feels that it will be a good season.

It was a tough start for the OCN Blizzard at last nights Pre-Season Game at The GLMC. The Blizzard fell to the SJHLs La Ronge Ice Wolves 9-3. The two teams will rematch in another pre season game at the Mel Hegland Arena in La Ronge on Monday.

Members of the KJHL Junior B hockey league will be meeting in Winnipeg to review three proposed expansion teams for the league. The league is looking at having expansion teams in Nisichawayasihk  Cree Nation, Chemawawin Cree Nation, and Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.

If Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation is awarded an expansion franchise they would play out of Creighton Saskatchewan. The league is expected to make their decision sometime tomorrow.

The Pas Slo Pitch League Season Wrapped up last night with the final three games. This year the winning teams are the OCN Jacs, Tipsy 10 and Sweatshop Swingers

The Pas Slo Pitch League Playoffs continue today with the final three games of the season.  On A side the OCN Jacs play Hits and Giggles at Arena One Field. On The B side the Allouettes and the Sweatshop swingers play at Centennial Field, and on C side Tipsy 10 Plays Pitches be crazy at Kinsmen Field.

All three games begin at 6:30PM and the winner of each game will be crowned champion of their respected sides.
