98 books made the difference in the library checkout challenge, which saw The Flin Flon Public Library face The Pas Regional Library.

The challenge tracked books checked out from both libraries in October, Library Month. Books checked out in person from the library and on the Libby app were counted. Flin Flon took the victory with 2537 books, while The Pas finished not far behind with 2439.

The Flin Flon Public Library won a community pizza party, with details expected to be posted on their Facebook page soon. Flin Flon has also suggested a rematch with The Pas for next October.

An increase in book checkouts, public participation, and an interest in reading is a win for both communities.
