The Pas RCMP are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision in the Rural Municipality of Kelsey that claimed the life of a 19-year-old man from Alberta.

Police say the collision happened Monday, October 26th, at approximately 4:51 p.m., at the intersection of Provincial Road 282 and Young’s Point.

When officers arrived, The Pas Fire Department and emergency medical services were already assisting the drivers. An SUV and a truck, both with significant damage, were found in a field southeast of the intersection.

The initial investigation indicates the truck was travelling south on Provincial Road 282, while the SUV was travelling east on Big Lake Angus Road when the collision occurred.

The driver of the SUV, a 19-year-old man from Alberta, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

The driver of the truck, a 66-year-old woman from The Pas, was taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Police say there were no passengers in either vehicle.
