The RM of Kelsey is reminding residents to prepare for potential winter storms as winter approaches.

Manitoba Hydro suggests keeping essential items in an emergency box and storing it somewhere easy to find in the dark. Emergency supplies should include flashlights and extra batteries, a portable charger, and a first aid kit.

It is also recommended to keep items in your car, in case of an emergency. Pack food that won’t spoil, water in plastic bottles that won’t freeze, blankets, and a seat belt cutter.

Ensure that all vehicles are adequately fueled, and maintain an additional supply of fuel for generators, if you have one.

Keep an eye on weather forecasts through various media channels to remain prepared.
