Trapper's Festival 80th Anniversary Logo

Category: Local News

Eighty years of tradition are taking centre stage as The Pas prepares for another Northern Manitoba Trappers’ Festival.

The festival is celebrating its 80th anniversary this winter, honouring the people, history and northern spirit that have made it a community tradition for generations.

For decades, local artist and Honorary Trapper Riel Berard created the festival’s annual logo, bringing northern imagery to life. This year, festival board members have worked together on a new design to mark the milestone.

This year’s design features Lonesome Mary helping Bill Bannock reach the milestone, with a northern cabin, trees and snow highlighting the region’s heritage.

The festival has long celebrated northern life and traditions, and remains a proud part of Manitoba’s cultural history.

The 80th Trappers’ Festival runs February 17th through the 22nd.
