South Indian Lake RCMP are investigating a serious assault in O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation.

 

Police say they received a report at nine o’clock Friday morning, October ninth, and traced the investigation to a residence on McLeod Bay.

 

A 44-year-old man was taken to the local nursing station overnight with a serious stab wound. He was airlifted to a Winnipeg hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

 

Police say the victim and suspect knew each other, and there is no threat to the community.
