The nomination period for The Pas and OCN Business and Citizen of the Year awards is open now, and the deadline is fast approaching.
Nominations must be in by this Saturday, October 10th, and the chamber is encouraging everyone to nominate a local business or individual that embodies the ideals of the award.
Past recipients include Lynda Gewsin for her outstanding work with The Pas and Area Animal Shelter, contributions through various volunteer services, and work with the Kelsey School Division providing educational services to the area's children.
The criteria for the awards are either a business or individual with a strong community background, entrenched in the services, volunteer work, and participation in community events and activities.
To nominate someone deserving of the award, you can go to The Pas and OCN Chamber of Commerce website and fill out the available forms. The deadline is Saturday at 6 pm and the awards will be handed out at the Chamber's AGM on October 22nd.
