The Manitoba RCMP say two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in The Pas that left one man critically injured.

 

The shooting happened May 27th, around 10 p.m., on the 300-block of Ralls Island Road.

 

Police say four people, including a five-year-old child, were inside a vehicle when a group of suspects wearing hoodies approached and opened fire.

 

A 34-year-old man was shot multiple times and critically injured. He was taken to hospital and has since recovered. Another occupant suffered minor injuries, while the other two, including the child, were unharmed.

 

The Manitoba Integrated Law Enforcement Team took over the investigation on June 1st. Investigators believe the shooting was connected to the local drug trade.

 

Following multiple search warrants, evidence collection and interviews, police arrested two suspects.

 

Thirty-four-year-old Morgan Blair was arrested at Brandon Correctional Centre and faces several firearm and attempted robbery charges.

 

Forty-four-year-old Tara Kreshewski of The Pas is charged with attempted robbery with a firearm.

 

Both remain in custody. Police say further charges are expected as the investigation continues.
