The Minisewin Family Resource Center will hold a community gathering dedicated to National Day for Truth and Reconciliation tonight, running from 4:30 to 8:00 PM.
The event offers a chance to sit down with Elders and Survivors of the Residential School system, listen to their stories, have meaningful conversations, and enjoy some soup and bannock. The evening will include a sharing circle with storytelling, giving participants the chance to listen and learn.
The gathering will be held at the Minisewin Family Resource Center, at 212 Edwards Ave. For more information, call 204-623-6349.
This is one of the various events happening in The Pas in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th. Other events include an Every Child Matters Tri-Community Walk and a Survivor’s panel on September 30th. The walk will begin at The Pas Friendship Center and conclude at the OCN Veterans Hall, with events at the hall to follow.
Free Youth Orange Shirt Day shirts are available at the Pas Friendship Center. Quantities are limited, and the shirts will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. You can stop by The Pas Friendship Center during regular hours (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) to pick up a free youth shirt.
