Norway House RCMP are investigating a homicide following the death of a 36-year-old man.

 

Police were called to a residence on Paupanekis Point shortly after 3 a.m. on August 11th for a report of a severely injured male.

 

Officers and First Nation Safety Officers arrived and were advised by EMS that the man was deceased, possibly as a result of a stabbing.

 

RCMP Major Crime Services took over the investigation, with Forensic Identification Services assisting at the scene.

 

Investigators determined there had been a confrontation inside the home between the victim and another man, who fled the scene. The two men were known to each other.

 

A 33-year-old Norway House man was later arrested without incident and is facing a charge of second-degree murder.

 

The investigation remains ongoing.
