A new transitional housing complex in Winnipeg is providing more than a place to live for people experiencing homelessness.

Webb Place will offer up to 118 residents access to 24-hour, on-site supports through Indigenous-led organization N’Dinawemak.

Services include case management, crisis response, life-skills development, medication supports, cultural and spiritual programming, and connections to mental health and addictions services.

The Manitoba government has invested 25-point-four million dollars to purchase and renovate the building.

Officials say the goal is to help residents move toward permanent housing and prevent a return to homelessness.
