Cross Lake RCMP are investigating the suspicious death of a 17-year-old female from Pimicikamak Cree Nation.

Police were called Sunday afternoon after a body was discovered in a wooded area in the community.

An autopsy confirmed the victim’s identity. She had been reported missing on August 22nd, after last being seen by family on August 17th.

Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services are now leading the investigation.
