Manitoba First Nations Police and RCMP have seized more than ten thousand dollars in cash and several firearms following search warrants in Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation.

The warrants were executed on August tenth as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Police searched two residences on Townsite. Several people were detained and arrested during the first search.

At the second residence, officers seized ten-thousand, 260 dollars in Canadian currency, along with several rifles and shotguns, pellet and BB guns, ammunition and other weapons.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say additional charges may be laid as evidence is reviewed.
