Women across the North will have local access to breast cancer screening services this summer.

 

CancerCare Manitoba’s BreastCheck mobile screening clinic will be making stops in both Flin Flon and The Pas.

 

The clinic will be in Flin Flon from now to August 7th at the Flin Flon Primary Health Care Centre on North Avenue.

 

It will then travel to The Pas from August 10th to the 27th, offering appointments at The Pas Health Complex.

 

Women between the ages of 45 and 74 can book a screening appointment by calling 1-855-952-4325.

 

Health officials say regular mammograms are important because they can detect breast cancer early, sometimes before symptoms appear, improving treatment options and outcomes.
