A community gathering in support of cancer awareness, celebrating Stanley Constants 5 year cancer free anniversary, is set for tomorrow at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre from 11 until 2.

The event will begin with a moment of silence and a blessing of the food at 11 o'clock, honouring those lost to cancer, celebrating survivors and supporting those still fighting.

A free community feast will feature a wide variety of homemade dishes, including a special table for elders with traditional wild game and fish.

Free prize draws begin at 12:15, with a one-thousand-dollar grand prize drawn at 12:30. The winner of the grand prize does not need to be present.

The afternoon will also include a bouncy house for children and a balloon release, symbolizing hope and remembering everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer.
