Pride Festival and Parade

The Tri-Community Pride’s annual festival and pride parade is coming up this weekend!

Alexi LePlante, Committee Chair, has been putting out agendas and running meetings in preparation for their largest event of the year.

She said this year the group is proud to be able to take the parade through all three communities, starting at the ag grounds, heading through the pas, and finishing at the GLMC.

The parade will kick off the celebration on Saturday at 12:30 PM, with the festival taking place afterward at the GLMC from 1–4 PM.

There will be plenty of activities for all ages, including face painting, a BBQ, speeches, Drag education, and an “In-Queer-ies” booth, where people can ask questions about the 2SLGBTQI+ community and learn more about available mentorship opportunities.

This year’s festival will also feature a quick drag event for youth, with outfits available to try on and a stage set up for a chance to let everyone who takes part perform if they wish.

There will be lots of prizes for pride outfits, open musical performances, drag performances, and a pride market. The committee is still looking for additional market vendors, and organizations or groups can book a free table by contacting the committee.

The TPCRC will also be hosting a button-making table for anyone who would like to take part.

Organizers are still looking for marshals to help with the parade and ensure the event runs smoothly.

Show your pride and join the community this Saturday for an afternoon of celebration, entertainment, education, and connection, with the parade starting at 12:30 PM and the festival running from 1–4 PM at the GLMC.
