Manitoba First Nations Police Update

Manitoba First Nations Police were called to a business in the OCN on May 30th after staff reported a woman causing a disturbance. According to reports, she was harassing people, arguing with security, and refusing to leave the premises while appearing intoxicated.

 

Police arrived and were informed the woman had been evicted from her room and continued to refuse to leave the area. Officers located her outside and placed her under arrest. During the arrest, it was discovered that she had an outstanding warrant for multiple charges, including taking a motor vehicle without consent, resisting police, failing to comply with court conditions, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and fleeing police.

 

A search of her person uncovered a quantity of cocaine and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

 

A 28-year-old woman from Pukatawagan has been remanded into custody and now faces charges including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, causing a disturbance, and multiple violations under the Liquor, Gaming, and Cannabis Control Act.
