The Pas Health Complex is holding a radio pledge show today and tomorrow morning on 102.9 CJAR to help raise funds for brand new medical equipment for local use.
The funds raised during the pledge show have a new focus each year. The money this year will go towards equipment for three departments. They include five new fetal heart monitors for Obstetrics, which allow nurses and medical staff to get accurate measurements of the fetus prior to birth. An upright blanket warmer for the Emergency Department, used to warm blankets for chilled patients, warming veins to open them for drawing blood, and providing comfort to those ill or experiencing trauma in the ER. The last items are two new air mattress systems for the Acute Care Inpatient Unit, giving patients who must remain prone for long periods the comfort of an equalized pressure on their sleeping surface.
The pledge show will run from 8 to 10 AM on May 14th and 15th, and every little donation helps. Those wishing to make a pledge can call 204-623-1240 or 204-623-5307 during the show to make a pledge.
