The University College of the North (UCN) reported impressive results for 2025, including a 17 percent increase in enrolment.

Across Northern Manitoba, a total of 2,490 students were enrolled during the 2025–26 academic year, and 90 percent of students reported that UCN programs provided them with the knowledge and skills needed to help advance their careers.

In a news release, Doug Lauvstad stated that the challenges and opportunities facing the North are evolving and, if realized, have the potential to shape both positive and negative economic outcomes for the region.

UCN has once again been recognized as a top 25 employer in the province, with 84 percent of graduates finding employment in Northern Manitoba following completion of their programs.
