A partnership between the federal and provincial governments is looking to help strengthen ties to the north.
The new ports Manitoba project is a memorandum of understanding among the Arctic Gateway Group, CentrePort Canada, and the Winnipeg Airports Authority that aims to improve how goods are moved through the province.
The partnership links the port of Churchill and Hudson Bay Railway, Winnipeg’s international airport, and CenterPort Canada, which will help bring goods to both the domestic and international sectors while strengthening Manitoba’s role as a trading hub.
The idea is to grow Manitoba as a key player in the country’s export sector.
