A proactive traffic stop results in drug charges being laid in the Opaskwayak Cree Nation.
In the early hours on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Manitoba First Nations Police conducted a traffic stop in The Pas to check for sobriety and proper licensing.
During the investigation, all vehicle occupants were detained under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
A search revealed over half a kilogram of suspected cocaine and a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine, worth over $40,000 combined.
All four occupants of the vehicle were charged and remanded into custody on various drug charges.
