Last Thursday evening, the Thompson RCMP responded to a stabbing report outside a business on Mystery Lake Road.

They found a seriously injured 25-year-old man, who was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. Officers quickly identified a suspect, who fled on foot.

After a brief chase, the suspect was arrested without incident, and a search of the area led to the recovery of the knife used in the assault.

Last Friday, a 19-year-old from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation was charged with aggravated assault and was held in custody until his court appearance.

Thompson RCMP continues to investigate.
