The University College of the North has joined the AI Workforce Readiness program, a national initiative led by the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute and supported by Google.org.

This program involves 29 Canadian institutions and aims to close the AI skills gap, impacting about 125,000 students each year.

Tara Manych, AVP of Transformation at UCN, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing its importance for digital equity in northern Manitoba.

UCN experts will work with Amii to develop curriculum resources that provide students with essential AI skills and knowledge.

Cam Linke, CEO of Amii, emphasized the commitment to making AI education accessible, with a focus on empowering instructors and students in underserved communities.
