Food sustainability in Northern Manitoba has long been a concern, with costs rising the further north you head.

 

Local Agriculture, Indigenous traditions, accessibility, and sustainability are all key aspects to creating a viable solution.

 

The UCN is hosting "Let's Talk Sustainability," an event designed to spark a conversation about food sustainability and what we can do to help here at home.

 

Next Thursday, November 20th, conversations will take place at the UCN regarding food safety. Local knowledge keepers and food sustainability experts will be on hand to discuss the issues.

 

Hunting, Fishing, Climate Change, and gardening will all be examined, and a tour of the UCN's greenhouse will take place.
