There is a massive need for seniors housing in The Pas. The Northern Lights Seniors Housing Co-op is looking to change that.

 

Rod Berezoski, with the initiative, said that it's similar to the Valhalla Cooperative, which was established in the community over 40 years ago.

 

The meeting took place with Riley Hawkeswood, Community Engagement Coordinator from Cooperatives First, to discuss opportunities and how to proceed.

 

There is a small steering group that includes Sandra Shapiro with the CF Cedar Lake region and Jonathan LaLonde, the town of Pas's economic development officer.

 

Regular meetings are also taking place with various senior groups and the town, as well as others looking for a location to move forward with the project.
