Wear appropriate safety gear, inspect your vehicles, follow trail rules and guidelines, and ride with a buddy.
These are some of the most important things to remember when operating a dirt bike or off-road vehicle.
On Saturday, RCMP in Dauphin responded to a dirt bike collision in the RM of Dauphin and found a 15-year-old male in distress; he was transported to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
It was reported that the youth was not wearing a helmet when he collided with a deer and was thrown from the dirt bike.
If you plan to engage in off-roading during the summer, you are also encouraged to be aware of your surroundings and carry a basic first aid kit.
RCMP Investigations are ongoing.
