Restorative Measures in Flin Flon

In Flin Flon, efforts continue in response to ongoing wildfires.

On Tuesday, Fire Chief Jason Kuras shared insights about the fire map and active hotspots in a video update. As scanning operations persist, more results are expected.

Warm weather has caused flare-ups at MacKenzie Point and Trout Lake, prompting ground crews and air support to take action.

Consultants are assessing the hospital's emergency room for re-opening requirements, with staff mobilizing to the city.

Clinic services are expected to resume in the community.

Emergency response teams, including the Office of the Fire Commissioner and Manitoba Wildfires, are collaborating to manage the situation.

While there's progress, a state of emergency and mandatory evacuation remain in place.

Deputy Mayor Dallas Funk and Councillor Eagle are on-site supporting food services and business efforts.

A call for critical businesses to return has been issued, and secondary business outreach will begin yesterday.
