RCMP service dogs play various roles that often can’t be done by humans.
Rolls like narcotics detection, search and rescue, explosive detection and more.
Kids across the country are being encouraged to take part in the RCMP’s annual “Name the Puppy” contest.
Kids are encouraged to submit names that reflect the importance of police service dogs, and the work they do.
Names must start with the letter “A”, be 1 or 2 syllables long, and have no more than 9 letters.
The contest is open to Canadians from the age of 4 to 14.
Submissions can be made at RCMP.com/puppy and must be in before March 19th.
