Take part in the 78 annual Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival Running in The Pas this week.

 

To start off the event yesterday, not one but two ice worms were tracked down in the community.

 

Clues for the ice worm and ice weasel hunts are being released daily during the festival at 10 a.m. and can be found at the festival headquarters, the festival Facebook page, and CJAR.

 

Today’s events include Dog sled races, King trapper contests, the snow sculpt contest, and the National ice carving competition.

 

King events will be running at Fort Whoop It Up and along the Saskatchewan River, with moose and goose calling events for the kings running at event headquarters at 3:30.

 

Tomorrow, the Queen Trappers competition and the junior king and queen events will get underway.
