Today is the official start of the 78th Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival in The Pas, Manitoba, and there are contests, events, activities and more to participate in.
The opening ceremonies and the annual sawing of the log will take place at the fort located at Devon Park at 12:15, with event registration taking place throughout the day at the event HQ.
King and Queen Trapper and Junior Trapper's competition will take registration from 9 am to 6 pm.
The Torchlite parade will start at 5:30 in the evening, leaving the Legion and heading towards the GLMC.
The Fur Queens will display their talents at the Fur Queen pageant running at the MBCI starting at 7:30.
