As part of an ongoing investigation, RCMP in Thompson searched a residence in Split Lake and arrested a man believed to be trafficking drugs in the Community.

Upon searching the residence, the 26-year-old male, who was not a resident, was located and arrested without incident.

While searching the residence, a large quantity of drugs was located, including over 400 grams of Cocaine, over 300 grams of Crack, a stolen handgun, a large amount of cash, scales, and a cell phone.

Goitom Gezehey, a 26-year-old resident of Calgary, has been charged with 11 offences related to drugs and firearms, including possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He has been remanded, and an ongoing investigation is being conducted.
