Due to a recent rise in crime in the OCN community, the Chief and Council have issued a semi-lockdown effective immediately.
Concerns raised by community members about questionable individuals entering the community in the early morning along with statistical data on crime rates, sometimes violent and serious is the reason.
Security will be set up at checkpoints in the community between 2 am and 6 am screening individuals coming in and requesting you state your reason for entering.
For individuals breaching the lockdown penalties will be applied.
For employed residents for a first-time offence, a 100-dollar fine will be applied, and social services from OCN will be issued purchase orders instead of cheques.
Second-time offences for all residences will require an immediate meeting with the Chief and Council.
The lockdown is being done with the best interests of the community in mind, to keep the community safe from gang violence, drugs, impaired driving, assaults, and more.
