On Saturday, November 2nd, RCMP in Thompson received a call for assistance at a residence on Ashberry Place.
When officers arrived a loud disturbance could be heard within the unit.
Upon entry, officers learned that 2 adult females, ages 26 and 41, were arguing after the 26-year-old had dropped a 5-month-old infant multiple times.
Officers located the child hidden in an entertainment unit, EMS were called to the scene and transported the infant with non-life-threatening injuries to the hospital.
Upon being released the infant was taken into care by a relative.
The 26-year-old female, from Thompson, was charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm and failing to provide the necessities of life.
She was later released from police custody with a court appearance.
Investigations are ongoing.
