Last Friday morning, The Pas Fire Department responded to two separate fires in the community.
The first occurred just after 6 am when they were called to a hydro pole fire on Gordon Avenue.
When they arrived Manitoba Hydro was already on site, power was turned off to the pole, and the fire department was able to extinguish the flames and remained on scene for several hours to ensure no flare-ups.
The second fire took place at a structure in The Pas.
Upon arrival, they found the back side of the home on fire and were able to knock it down.
Following an overhaul of the structure, the only damage found was in the area of the fire’s origin.
This fire is under investigation.
The Town is reminding everyone to call 911 and NOT the fire hall or department members directly in case of a fire, so the information can be promptly passed on to dispatch.
