The Northern Health Region along with the Opaskwayak Health Authority are hosting an awareness walk to show support for suicide prevention.

 

The gathering will start at Devon Park at 5 pm with short speeches from town and OCN representatives followed by a walk to the GLMC.

 

There will also be a gathering at the GLMC following the walk with a candlelight vigil, where candles will be available and light refreshments available for those who attend.

 

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day and everyone is encouraged to show support to preventing and supporting those who may be struggling to cope.

 

Suicide can have wide-reaching consequences, that can affect family, friends, and others involved.
