The Safer Communities and Neighbourhood Act is the first of its kind in the country, and it works by holding property owners accountable for threatening or disturbing activities.

 

The Manitoba Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Act is designed to enhance neighbourhood safety by giving residents the power to take action against properties involved in illegal activities.

 

It enables community members to report concerns about specific properties to the government for investigation and necessary measures.

 

The Act specifically targets properties used for activities such as drug production or distribution, gang-related activities, prostitution, and unlawful sale of alcohol, providing a means for concerned citizens to actively contribute to the safety of their communities.
